DIY: Coffee Body Scrub
As a follow-up from last week’s ‘4 Steps To The Perfect Morning Coffee’ I’m sharing a handy hack to make your mornings even more waste-busting. Everyone loves a warm cup of coffee in the morning but, once you’ve had your caffeine fix, many of us are left wondering what to do with the grinds left behind. You can, of course, compost these if you have the facilities to do so, but if you don’t why not put them to good use in the form of a natural, homemade coffee body scrub? This is a simple, hassle free DIY that will not only maximise the life of those little leftovers but will also leave your skin feeling smooth, soft and cared for.
Why not give it a try and let me know what you think?
1 cup leftover coffee grounds
1/2 cup organic coconut oil
1 cup sugar
Make sure your coconut oil is in liquid form and, if not, heat gently until it is.
Mix in the coffee grounds and the sugar.
Make sure you store this in an airtight container.
While you bathe or shower, apply the scrub to the skin and massage in gently as with any other exfoliant scrub.
Rinse the skin thoroughly.
We recommend you moisturise after your shower but this step is optional depending on your normal post-shower routine.
